Prime Time ActionMartin Luther King Jr. day saw 14 NBA games take place. All of the games were major prime time matchups, but the game of the day was The Golden State Warriors X The Portland Trailblazers. When these teams last met on a big “Prime Time Stage” was the Western Conference Finals which the Warriors won 4-0. This time the stakes were a lot less, but the game was played at a high volume. Star Point Guard Steph Curry was hurt, same with Guard Klay Thompson. There was also the fact that Draymond Green and fellow guard C.J McCollum also out were out of action. This game focused on Damian Lillard as his battered Trailblazers took on a batter DeAngelo Russel Warriors. As Martin Luther King Jr. once said “The time is always right to do what is right“, and Damian Lillard sure got hot at the right time. Damian Lillard had a career night hit a 11 3-point shots last night and went for 61 points in a 129-124 OT win. The Blazers are currently 2 wins away from the 8th seed with a 19-26. This isn’t the exact way the Blazers wanted to have. With injuries all over the team Damian Lillard is going to need to rely on his deadly shooting and complimentary help from Hassan Whiteside and surprise comeback player Carmelo Anthony to make a forward push to the playoffs. Damian and The Portland Trailblazers next game is a date with MVP race candidate Luka Dončić and the Dallas Mavericks.
